Jason Anderson Wins 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450SX Championship
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson secured the 2018 450SX Championship at the series’ final round in Las Vegas this weekend, giving Jason, Rockstar Husqvarna, and Rekluse all their first 450SX titles. Anderson’s championship comes as a result of a hard-fought season. He earned a podium spot 11 times, including wins in Houston, Oakland, San Diego, and Atlanta.
Following a collision that resulted in a 17th place finish in Salt Lake City, Jason and the team came back strong in Las Vegas. Anderson qualified 3rd and took 2nd in his heat. When the gate dropped on the main, Anderson needed 10th or better to secure the championship, and he did just that. He crossed the finish line on his Core Manual equipped FC450 in 5th place, ending the season with a 9 point lead over Marvin Musquin.
Rekluse President Sean Brown said “We’re thrilled for Jason and his milestone achievement. Earning a 450SX title has been a long standing goal for Rekluse. We got to this point through countless hours of work, testing and refining our products over the years. As a company fueled by a desire to help riders win, I am very pleased for our Rekluse team to share in this accomplishment. Having our first 450SX title come at the same time as Jason and the Rockstar Husqvarna team’s first title makes this even sweeter. Everyone at Rekluse congratulates Jason on a tremendous season and looks forward to our continued work in supporting him and the Rockstar Husqvarna program.”
